“The Jabrayil district, a historical territory of Azerbaijan, was occupied by the Armenian Armed Forces on August 23, 1993. As a result of the occupation, the enemy, targeting civilians in accordance with its nature, carried out a policy of looting and destruction, devastating the district’s settlements and dealing a heavy blow to our historical and cultural heritage.
According to statistics, as a result of the occupation, nearly 100 villages in the district were subjected to the occupation of Armenian armed forces and brutally destroyed, 362 people were martyred, and 191 people became disabled and lost their ability to work. The enemy, aiming to erase our national history, destroyed our historical monuments, which are relics of millennia, in the district, trying to destroy the traces of our people’s past.
“Elchi” reports that these were the words of Rashad Mahmudov, a Member of the Milli Majlis. According to him, our malicious neighbors, who did not hesitate to change the name of our homeland, occupied Karabakh for many years, and in response to our country’s desire for peace, they engaged in constant provocations along the border:
“The enemy crossing the red line made the war inevitable. Thus, the Jabrayil direction became one of the important battlefields in the Patriotic War, which began with counter-offensive operations under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. With the determination of the Victorious Supreme Commander and the heroism of our army, Jabrayil was liberated. October 4, 2020, was etched in the memory of our people as one of the glorious pages of Azerbaijani history. On that day, the liberation of Jabrayil, as one of the first harbingers of a great victory, brought endless pride and joy to our people. This historic victory demonstrated to the whole world the fighting spirit of the Azerbaijani Army, the national will of our people, and the determination of our state. Our Armed Forces, which scattered the enemy, liberated Jabrayil and achieved successive victories, crushing the enemy’s defensive positions. The waving of our flag in Jabrayil demonstrated to the world the triumph of our strength, our national will, and our just struggle. The liberation of Jabrayil was inscribed in the memory of our history as a glorious victory written with the determination of our people, the heroism of our army, and the power of our state.
Jabrayil, which the enemy turned into ruins, began to be rebuilt with the power of our state. New roads, bridges, and socio-economic facilities were built in the direction of the district’s restoration. The creation of the “Araz Valley Economic Zone” Industrial Park opened new opportunities for Jabrayil’s economic development. Construction work carried out based on the Master Plan for the city’s development until 2040 forms the basis of large projects planned for the future of our homeland. Strengthening Jabrayil’s energy supply and renewing its road infrastructure create new opportunities for the district’s development. Today, the reconstruction of Jabrayil is one of the clearest expressions of our state’s will to build on the liberated lands.

Əmindirlər ki, heç bir qüvvə onları doğma torpaqlarından bir daha ayıra bilməz, qurduqları həyatın və gələcəyə olan inamın qarşısını ala bilməz. Ölkə başçısının böyük siyasi iradəsi ilə qüdrətli dövlətimiz bu torpaqlarda xalqımızın gələcəyinə sahib çıxıb. Cəbrayılın hər qarışında dövlətimizin gücü, xalqımızın iradəsi və Zəfərimizin yaratdığı yeni tarix görünür.
