Javier Aguirre, who will leave the Mexican national team after the 2026 World Cup, may be back to work soon.
“Elchi” reports, citing “Marca”, that the 67-year-old specialist is one of the main candidates for the head coach position at the Spanish club “Valencia”.
The La Liga representative, who dismissed Carlos Corberan two days ago, was interested in the services of Ernesto Valverde, but the Spanish specialist did not accept the offer. After that, Aguirre came onto the club’s agenda.
The Mexican coach’s good knowledge of La Liga and his experience working in similar situations strengthen his candidacy.
It should be noted that under Aguirre’s leadership, the Mexican national team showed maximum results in the 2026 World Cup, winning three victories in the group stage. Although the team defeated Ecuador in the round of 32, they lost to England 2:3 in the round of 16.
