“Our most painful point is the issue of reading. When the reading level is low, the results in natural sciences are also low.”
“Elchi” reports that Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev said this during the presentation of the results of PISA 2025 – the Programme for International Student Assessment.
The minister stated that if a student does not understand what they are reading, it is a serious problem.
According to him, Azerbaijan lags behind developed countries in natural sciences:
“There is a need to fundamentally change our approach to natural sciences. In this field, both the content of natural sciences and the approach to teaching must be reviewed. The changes to be implemented in the teaching of natural sciences will have an impact on the results in this field in the future,” noted Emin Amrullayev.
