A powerful explosion has occurred on the Sun

On the morning of September 4, an M-class flare was recorded on the Sun.

This was reported to TASS by the Institute of Applied Geophysics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

“On September 4, at 10:53 Moscow time (11:53 Baku time), an M1.2-class flare lasting 27 minutes was recorded in the X-ray range in the sunspot group No. 4524 (N11E74).”

It should be noted that solar flares or explosions are divided into five classes depending on the power of X-ray radiation: A, B, C, M, and X. The lowest class, A0.0, corresponds to a radiation power of 10 nanowatts per square meter in Earth’s orbit. Moving to the next letter increases the radiation power by 10 times. Explosions can be accompanied by the ejection of solar plasma. When those plasma clouds reach Earth, they can cause magnetic storms. (milli.az)
