A fire-tactical drill on extinguishing fires was held at the Oil Delivery Site of the Absheron Production Department of SOCAR’s Oil Pipelines Department, located in the city of Sumgayit, organized by the State Fire Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
“Elchi” reports that the drill involved relevant forces of the local structures of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, employees of the Oil Delivery Site, as well as personnel from the Sumgayit regional department of the State Agency for the Protection of Strategic Objects and the Absheron District Police Department.
The main purpose of the drill was to further improve the interaction of fire protection units involved in the area in the event of a fire at strategically important facilities where products belonging to a high-combustion group are processed, to strengthen the professional skills of personnel in extinguishing possible fires at such facilities, and to increase the knowledge of the facility’s relevant staff regarding initial behavior rules during fires.
During the drill, the fire protection units of the State Fire Protection Service, which arrived promptly at the site of the simulated fire at the Oil Delivery Site, carried out operations to evacuate employees from the “danger zone,” conduct agile reconnaissance at the “fire” site, “extinguish the fire,” and “rescue the injured” from the area.
After the successfully conducted drill, the results were discussed, and relevant tasks were assigned.
