Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Lithuania discussed regional security issues

Today, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and his Lithuanian counterpart, Kestutis Budris.

It was stated that during the telephone conversation, the current state and development prospects of Azerbaijan-Lithuania bilateral relations were discussed. The parties noted the importance of continuing political dialogue and further expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

During the telephone conversation, the importance of developing partnerships within the framework of multilateral platforms was also emphasized. Kestutis Budris provided information about Lithuania’s preparations for the presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2027. In the context of Azerbaijan-European Union relations, an exchange of views took place regarding efforts in a number of directions during Lithuania’s upcoming presidency.

The ministers also discussed regional security issues, the current situation in the South Caucasus, the work being done to ensure sustainable peace and stability in the region, as well as other international issues of mutual interest.
