The Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued an appeal regarding deceptive calls made in the name of government agencies.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated by the MIA.
The appeal states that cybercriminals are calling citizens in the name of various government agencies and providing false information about the security of funds in their bank accounts, under the pretext of transferring them to other accounts:
“We urge citizens to be careful about calls and messages sent from various foreign countries in the name of government agencies, not to provide their personal and bank details to the other party, not to share confirmation codes sent to their mobile phones, not to click on unknown links, and not to carry out any payments or financial transactions based on such requests.
It should not be forgotten that government agencies do not request confidential information about bank cards, CVV/CVC, and OTP codes from citizens via calls, social networks, or messaging applications. Transferring this information to third parties can result in the theft of funds from bank accounts.
