On September 2, the next consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan were held in Ashgabat.
According to the information provided to “Elchi”- by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Azerbaijani delegation was led by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Turkmen delegation was led by Dovletirat Muratov, Head of the Consular Services Department.
The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Migration Service, and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Turkmenistan, as well as an official from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and employees of our country’s embassy in Turkmenistan.
During the consular consultations, an exchange of views took place regarding the current state and development prospects of cooperation in the consular field between the two countries.
The delegations discussed the protection of the rights and interests of the citizens of the two countries, including the simplification of the applied visa regimes.
Cooperation issues between the two countries in the fields of internal affairs, citizenship, migration, justice, education, and other important areas were reviewed.
At the end of the negotiations, the heads of the delegations of the two countries signed the protocol of the meeting and reached an agreement to hold the next session of consultations in Baku next year.
