The Investigative Committee of Armenia has completed the investigation into the criminal case opened against former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan.
“Elchi” reports that the case has been submitted to the prosecutor for further referral to the court.
According to the investigation’s version, in 2008, Seyran Ohanyan instructed one of the Ministry of Defense employees to provide a three-room apartment in Yerevan out of turn. It is reported that the person in question had a family relationship with Ohanyan.
The investigative body believes that the requirements of the legislation were violated during the provision of the apartment. The maximum penalty provided for the article charged against Ohanyan is up to 4 years of imprisonment. The final decision on sending the criminal case to court will be made by the court after the prosecution stage.
It should be recalled that Seyran Ohanyan actively participated in the aggression against Azerbaijan during the First Karabakh War and the Patriotic War.
