11 foreigners attempting to cross the Azerbaijani border were detained last month

During August 2026, 17 people were detained by the State Border Service for violating the state border.

“Elchi” reports that the Press Center of the State Border Service released information regarding this.

According to the information, 6 of them were citizens of Azerbaijan, 6 of Iran, 2 of Pakistan, 2 of Algeria, and 1 of Turkey.

As a result of measures taken to combat illegal migration, 6 people were detained while attempting to cross the state border with forged date stamps, passports, or documents belonging to others.

For violating border regime rules, 57 people were detained and appropriate measures were taken against them.

As a result of measures to combat crime, 317 people wanted by law enforcement agencies were detained and handed over to the relevant authorities, the departure of 764 people prohibited from leaving the country was prevented, and the entry of 35 people prohibited from entering the country was blocked.

As a result of measures to combat the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, 266 kilograms and 873 grams of narcotic drugs and 5,236 pills of various compositions were discovered and removed from circulation (in 1 case, 28 kilograms and 500 grams of narcotic drugs were seized via an unmanned aerial vehicle).
