In connection with the rainy and windy weather conditions expected in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, as well as in a number of regions of the country, the Main State Traffic Police Department (MSPD) calls on drivers to be especially careful, taking into account the dangers that torrential rains may pose to road traffic.
This was reported to elchi by the MSPD.
During intense precipitation, it is necessary to take into account the reduction in visibility, the slipperiness of the road surface, the accumulation of water in certain areas, and the increased risk of loss of vehicle control. Drivers are advised to choose a speed limit appropriate to weather and road conditions, increase the following distance, and avoid sharp maneuvers and sudden braking.
At the same time, taking into account that strong winds can create additional difficulties for traffic, drivers of vehicles with trailers, canvas covers, long-length and oversized vehicles, in particular, should be more cautious and pay attention to the reliable securing of the transported cargo.
Pedestrians are requested to take into account the limited visibility during torrential rains and to cross the road only in designated places and after being fully convinced of their safety.
MSPD calls on all road users to correctly assess weather conditions and to behave with maximum caution and responsibility on the roads.
