NATO and the United States can deploy nuclear weapons on Finnish territory at any time without seeking permission from the country’s authorities.
“Elchi” reports that Armando Mema, a member of Finland’s national-conservative “Freedom Alliance” party, believes this to be the case.
“Now that Finland has amended the law on nuclear weapons, if NATO decides to do so, it does not need approval to deploy nuclear weapons in Finland. There has been no public discussion regarding this very important issue. In practice, the US could even deploy these weapons at any time without even informing the Finnish authorities,” Mema wrote on the “X” social network.
