The Ministry of Emergency Situations and “Baku Metro” CJSC have conducted a tactical-special exercise at the “8 Noyabr” and “Memar Ajami” metro stations.
According to the information provided to “Elchi” by the MES, the topic of the exercise was “Organization of joint activities during emergency situations that may occur in the Baku Metro.”
Initially, a “report” was received by the MES “112” hotline regarding a “fire” caused by a hypothetical short circuit in the 2nd track section between the “8 Noyabr” and “Memar Ajami” stations, and the relevant forces of the Ministry’s State Fire Protection and State Fire Control services were immediately dispatched to the scene.
In connection with the hypothetical incident, Metro employees first carried out the closure of the stations, turned on the tunnel work lights, opened the passage doors, and performed “initial fire intervention” work.
Using personal protective equipment, the MES mobile fire-rescue teams promptly carried out reconnaissance and operational situation assessment work, the hypothetical fire was “extinguished” in a short time, and the “victims” were evacuated after receiving “first aid” using rescue equipment.
After the successful exercise, the results were discussed, and an exchange of views took place between the employees of the MES and the Metro regarding the prevention of emergency situations that may occur at the facility, conducting rescue operations, providing first aid to victims, and safety rules during evacuation.
A total of 7 pieces of equipment and 43 personnel from the MES were involved in the exercise.
