AYNA issued a statement regarding new express buses

Within the framework of the line separation project by “Baku Metro” CJSC, train traffic between “28 May” and “Nizami” stations will be suspended until construction work is completed.

“Elchi” reports this with reference to the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.

Considering the difficulties that will arise due to the lack of direct metro connection between “28 May” and “Nizami” stations, a decision has been made to organize additional supporting measures in ground transport. Thus, AYNA plans to take measures to create additional express lines and strengthen existing ones. From the moment the project implementation begins, 6 new express bus routes will be launched in various directions, and the number of vehicles on a number of existing routes will be increased.

The movement of buses will be adapted to the metro’s operating hours and will continue from 06:00 to 00:00.

The new express lines are as follows:

M1 – Between “Elmlar Akademiyasi” and “28 May” metro stations

M2 – Between “Inshaatchilar”, “Nizami”, and “28 May” metro stations

M3 – Between “20 Yanvar”, “Nizami”, and “28 May” metro stations

M4 – Between “20 Yanvar” and “Koroglu” metro stations

M5 – Between “20 Yanvar” and “Genclik” metro stations

M6 – Between “Elmlar Akademiyasi” and “Genclik” metro stations

Additionally, the number of buses on routes 2, 6, 7A, 9, 10, 14, 17, 18, 26, 61, 65, 79, 85, 88, 88A, 93, 133, 165, 199, and 202 will be increased, and the intervals will be reduced. It is planned to increase the number of buses on routes where additional demand will arise during the period of the metro closure.

Passengers can also obtain information about alternative routes through the “AYNA MaaS” application.

During the project implementation period, volunteers will provide support to passengers in front of the “28 May”, “20 Yanvar”, “Inshaatchilar”, and “Elmlar Akademiyasi” metro stations.
