What will happen if UEFA boycotts the World Cup?

The crisis between UEFA and FIFA is intensifying. UEFA, the governing body of European football, has reacted sharply to FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s plan to sell a 20% stake in a subsidiary company created to manage FIFA organizations, including the World Cup, to private investors.
elchi reports that after an emergency meeting, UEFA stated, “UEFA and its member federations will not participate in FIFA organizations.”
The plan in question involves the company being managed by FIFA but partially financed by private investors, including Joshua Kushner, the son-in-law of US President Donald Trump.
Following these developments, the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) also announced that it, along with its 41 members, has rejected the proposal.
How will the process continue?
The deadline to accept the financing agreement proposed by FIFA and receive the intended payment is September 19. If UEFA’s boycott decision is implemented, several tournaments will be affected, including the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup starting in Poland on September 5 and the play-off matches of the Women’s World Cup to be held in the autumn. UEFA Vice President Laura McAllister stated that the situation stems from FIFA’s policies, adding that they do not want players and countries to suffer, but they have reached this point. Numerous officials, including Football Association (FA) Chair Debbie Hewitt and FIFA Finance Committee Chairman Mike Malrani, have criticized Infantino for not conducting sufficient consultation and dialogue in decision-making processes.
