Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has called on Bulgaria to reconsider its decision regarding the temporary deployment of US military aircraft at the Bezmer airbase.
“Elchi” – citing the Reuters agency, reported that Iranian media has covered this development.
According to the report, during a telephone conversation with Bulgarian Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova-Chamova, the Iranian Foreign Minister stated that providing an airbase to the US for the deployment of military aviation that supports operations against Iran is equivalent to participating in those operations.
Araghchi emphasized that such a step is unacceptable and contrary to the traditional friendly relations between the two countries.
Furthermore, the Iranian minister held a telephone conversation with Cypriot Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos. He stressed the importance of not allowing the use of foreign military bases on Cypriot territory for conducting operations against Iran.
