China has called on the Philippines to stop actions that violate Beijing’s rights, as well as to refrain from provocations and media stunts in the South China Sea.
elchi reports that Xinhua has provided information on this matter.
A corresponding statement was made by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Lin Jian, while commenting on recent incidents in the area of Huangyan Island (Scarborough Shoal).
He stated that the China Coast Guard has already assessed the actions of Philippine vessels that, according to Beijing’s claims, intentionally entered these waters. Lin Jian emphasized that Huangyan Island is an integral part of China, and the measures taken to protect the country’s sovereignty and security are legal, professional, and justified.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry representative also accused Manila of once again inviting journalists on board ships to cover the incident and artificially escalate tensions, calling the Philippines the main source of instability in the region.
