The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it has completed the 12th wave of consecutive attacks against Iran.
elchi reports that a written statement from CENTCOM says: “CENTCOM completed its 12th night of attacks against Iran, which began at 22:30 (05:30 GMT).”
The statement notes that the attacks targeted military objectives such as Iran’s maritime capabilities, missile and drone storage facilities, coastal surveillance facilities, and air defense assets, and that the attacks have reduced Iran’s ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial vessels.
The statement also mentions that the US blockade of the Strait of Hormuz continues, adding: “To date, CENTCOM has turned back 9 commercial vessels and decommissioned 1 vessel to prevent ships from entering or leaving Iranian ports.”
The statement notes that more than 50,000 US troops are deployed in the Middle East.
