On July 23, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received Ruslan Edelgeriyev, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation and Special Presidential Representative for Climate Issues.
“Elchi” reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan has released information regarding this.
During the meeting, cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia in the field of combating climate change, COP-related issues, as well as regional and international topics of mutual interest were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided information about the experience gained and results achieved by Azerbaijan within the framework of the COP-29 Presidency, as well as our country’s close cooperation with Australia, which will hold the COP-31 Presidency, and the host country, Turkey.
Bilateral cooperation issues regarding the Caspian Sea were also touched upon during the meeting. In this context, the importance of intensifying the activities of the bilateral Working Group established for the Caspian Sea was emphasized.
Noting the importance of protecting the water resources and the unique ecosystem of the Caspian Sea, the significance of applying innovative technologies and implementing joint projects in this direction, including in the field of agriculture, was highlighted.
During the meeting, an exchange of views also took place on other bilateral issues of mutual interest.
