A fire broke out in the Imam Reza shrine complex in the city of Mashhad, where the late supreme leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, is buried.
“Elchi” reports citing axar.az that “Tasnim” has provided information regarding this.
According to the information, the fire started in a bitumen workshop located on the shrine’s premises. The shrine’s firefighting forces and employees of the Mashhad Fire Department were dispatched to the scene. The flames were brought under control in a short time.
It was stated that although dense smoke was observed in the area, the spread of the fire to other parts of the complex was prevented. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties as a result of the incident.
