“Russia highly appreciates Turkey’s readiness to contribute to the resolution of the Ukraine conflict.”
“Elchi” reports that this was stated by the Russian leader’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov.
“We are well aware of our Turkish friends’ desire to continue helping to transition to a peaceful path regarding the situation around Ukraine. We are grateful to the Turkish side for this,” the Kremlin spokesperson emphasized.
Peskov also touched upon the issue of the potential resumption of negotiations on Ukraine through Turkish mediation. He stated that Moscow currently does not see any near-term prospects for this, but remains open to continuing the peace process towards resolving the crisis.
Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan called on Ukraine to support the agreements reached in Ankara regarding the resolution of the conflict. The diplomat also noted that Ankara is ready to lead the maritime component of security guarantees for Kyiv.
