The Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population provided 7,424 people with disabilities with 297,000 rehabilitation aids in the first half of the current year.
elchi reports that among the mentioned rehabilitation aids, 666 were wheelchairs (including 18 motorized wheelchairs), 1,133 were lower and upper limb prostheses, and 1,805 were canes, crutches, and elbow crutches. Additionally, 3,880 pairs of prosthetic and orthopedic shoes, 608 hearing aids, 127 corsets, and other rehabilitation aids were provided to people with disabilities.
For people with disabilities who were unable to travel to the Agency’s Prosthetic-Orthopedic Production and Rehabilitation Center in Baku themselves or through their relatives to receive the rehabilitation aids, these items were delivered directly to their homes.
