Norway has imposed another package of sanctions against Russia.
elchi reports that the Kingdom’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released information regarding this.
“This package is in line with the 20th package of sanctions from the European Union, which Norway politically joined on May 8, 2026. The sanctions cover a range of measures and are aimed at the energy and financial sectors. They also include measures aimed at preventing sanctions evasion and further weakening the military-industrial complex,” the MFA press service stated.
The sanctions will come into effect on July 14.
“With this package, we are implementing additional measures against banks, crypto services, the liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector, ‘shadow fleets’, and participants who facilitate sanctions evasion through third countries. We are also following the EU’s efforts to limit Russia’s influence and prevent sanctions evasion. The goal is to increase economic pressure on Russia and make it more difficult for it to wage and finance its war against Ukraine,” commented Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide.
