The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has commented on the issue of FM radio in electric vehicles.
elchi reports that President Ilham Aliyev touched upon this issue at the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum while answering a question from a Georgian journalist regarding FM radio in electric vehicles.
“To be honest, I did not know that there is no FM radio in electric vehicles. To tell the truth, I mainly listen to the radio while in the car. Since I mostly travel by car within the country, I spend quite a lot of time in the vehicle. I listen to the radio during every trip. I mainly listen to music because I get enough news from other sources. I cannot imagine a car without a radio. I would not go anywhere in such a car. If there is any initiative in this direction that we can join, just let us know. We will fully support it,” the head of state noted.
It should be noted that the Georgian journalist stated that broadcasters and regulatory bodies in many European countries are working on legislative and policy initiatives to ensure that FM radio is maintained and easily accessible in new electric vehicles. He asked about the possibility of the Azerbaijani government supporting cooperation between the government, regulatory bodies, broadcasters, and the automotive industry to ensure the preservation and easy use of FM radio in new cars, in terms of public interest and ensuring operational information in emergency situations.
