In a number of supermarkets, cellophane (polyethylene) bags have become more expensive again.
“Elchi” reports that currently, cellophane bags are sold for 7 and 9 qepiks depending on their size.
It should be noted that since 2023, based on the decision of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and relevant institutions, these bags are provided to customers at market checkouts as a separate paid product type. The bags, which were previously provided for 3 and 5 qepiks, have now increased in price by nearly two times.
It takes hundreds of years for cellophane bags to completely decompose in nature, and similar price regulations are applied in developed countries to prevent this ecological damage.
