Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will discuss the prospects for deepening cooperation on various aspects of bilateral relations with his American counterpart Donald Trump on July 7.
elchi reports that this was announced by Burhanettin Duran, Head of the Communications Directorate of the Turkish Presidential Administration.
“US President Donald Trump will pay an official visit to our country on July 7, 2026, at the invitation of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan. During the talks to be held in Ankara, relations between Turkey and the US, two close allies and strategic partners, including defense, trade, and investment issues, will be comprehensively reviewed. The leaders will discuss steps towards deepening existing cooperation,” Duran stated on the “X” social network.
In addition to discussing bilateral topics, “there will also be an exchange of views on global and regional events during the negotiations.”
Trump is expected to arrive in Ankara on Tuesday morning. The Turkish side has prepared an official high-level welcoming ceremony for him. According to local commentators, Erdogan and Trump are expected to hold a joint press conference after the talks.
On July 8, Trump will spend part of the day at the NATO summit venue, where the leaders’ working sessions will be held.
