In accordance with the bilateral military cooperation plan signed between the Ministries of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Bulgaria for 2026, a “Working meeting on ensuring internal security in the army” was held.
According to the information provided to “Elchi” by the Ministry of Defense, within the framework of the visit, the delegation met with Major General Azer Ibrahimov, Chief of the Main Department of Internal Security and Investigation of the Ministry of Defense.
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place regarding the work carried out in the field of ensuring internal security in the Azerbaijan Army, the measures implemented, and the prospects for the development of existing cooperation in this direction.
Later, the delegation, which visited the Military Police Department of the Ministry of Defense, met with Major General Elgun Aliyev, Deputy Chief of the Main Department of Internal Security and Investigation – Chief of the Military Police Department.
The guests were given detailed information about the history of the establishment, activities, main tasks, and functions performed by the Military Police Department.
Also, the prospects for the participation of military police personnel of both countries in joint exercises in the coming years were discussed at the meeting.
In addition, an exchange of views was held on issues of mutual interest, and questions of interest to the delegation were answered.
