Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport to close due to Khamenei’s farewell ceremony

Due to the farewell ceremony for former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in Iran, restrictions will be imposed on the operations of some airports.

According to “Elchi”, the Iran Airports Company has announced that Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport will completely suspend operations on July 3 and 6.

According to the information, Mehrabad Airport will operate on a limited basis on July 4, 5, 7, and 8.

Mashhad International Airport will suspend its operations on July 9.

It should be noted that Ali Khamenei’s farewell ceremony will be held on July 4-5 at the Mosalla complex in Tehran, and the funeral will then be sent to the city of Qom.

After the farewell ceremony in Qom, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei will be buried in Mashhad on July 9, in accordance with his will.

Recall that Seyyed Ali Khamenei was killed along with his close family members during a joint US and Israeli attack on Tehran on February 28. Later, his son Mojtaba Khamenei was chosen to replace him.
