Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan visited the destroyed sites of Fuzuli city

On June 23, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited the destroyed sites of Fuzuli city.

“Elchi” reports that Emin Huseynov, the Special Representative of the President in the liberated territories of the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand districts, informed the President of Turkmenistan about the destruction and acts of vandalism committed by the Armenian armed forces in the Fuzuli district during the 30-year occupation, as well as the work carried out and planned in accordance with the city’s Master Plan.

It was noted that Fuzuli, once a densely populated and developing city, was completely looted and devastated during the Armenian occupation. Shortly after the liberation, the city’s Master Plan was prepared and approved by the head of state. Possessing great transport and logistics potential, Fuzuli is located at the intersection of the main transport arteries of the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions. According to the Master Plan of Fuzuli city, which covers a total area of nearly 2,000 hectares, it is planned that 50,000 people will live here by 2040. Rebuilt in accordance with modern urban planning standards, the “Smart City” concept will be applied in Fuzuli.

The distinguished guest was also informed about the mosque being built in Fuzuli by the Turkmen side.

It was noted that the foundation of this mosque was laid online by President Ilham Aliyev, Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and other heads of state and government who participated in the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States held in Gabala last October.

The total area of the mosque complex is more than 1 hectare. The mosque will have 2 minarets, each 40 meters high. The height of the main dome will be 30 meters. 500 people will be able to pray in the mosque at the same time.
