Washington intends to discuss the possibility of concluding a regional agreement on the limitation of missile weapons with Iran and the countries of the Persian Gulf.
elchi reports that US President Donald Trump stated this at a press conference held within the framework of the G7 summit in France.
According to him, the US plans to work on resolving issues related to conventional ballistic missiles in parallel with nuclear regulation.
The US leader noted that he does not consider it possible to completely deprive Iran of missile weapons while other states in the region have similar systems.
“Should we allow Saudi Arabia to have missiles, but not Iran? That won’t work,” Trump said.
He also noted that the main problem is not in missiles, but in other types of weapons that can pose a more serious threat.
