The Caspian Sea is a trade tool for Azerbaijan and connects the country with Central Asia.
“Elchi” reports citing AZERTAC that these words were stated by Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, during his online speech at the Trans-Caspian Forum.
He noted that last year, with the unanimous support and decision of the regional countries, Azerbaijan was admitted as a full member to the Central Asia Consultative Meeting:
“I metaphorically call this C5+1. Central Asia and Azerbaijan share historical, cultural, and linguistic values and norms. Azerbaijan is also a strategic ally with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and other countries in the region. The Organization of Turkic States provides another framework for it. With its young demographics, strategic energy and critical mineral resources, and strong economy, the Turkic world is becoming a new political reality and a cooperation platform on the vast Eurasian continent.”
