The State Fire Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations held a fire and tactical exercise on the topic “Extinguishing fires in oil and gas production facilities” at the Ethylene-Polyethylene plant of SOCAR’s “Azərikimya” Production Association in Sumgayit city.
This was reported to elchi by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
It was stated that the main purpose of the exercise was to further improve the interaction of fire protection units involved in the area in case of a fire at facilities producing oil and gas products, to increase the professional training level of personnel in extinguishing fires at such facilities, as well as to enhance the knowledge of the facility’s relevant staff on initial response procedures during fires.
During the exercise, fire protection units of the State Fire Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which arrived promptly at the simulated fire site, carried out the evacuation of plant employees from the “hazardous area”, conducted rapid reconnaissance at the “fire” site, and executed the “fire extinguishing” operation.
After the successfully conducted exercise, the results obtained were discussed, and relevant instructions were given.
