Strana.ua: Zelensky flew to London via Moldova against the backdrop of the conflict with Poland.
“Elchi” reports that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has begun flying to Europe via Moldova against the backdrop of rising tensions with Poland. This was reported by the Ukrainian publication Strana.ua on its Telegram channel.
It is noted that Zelensky previously used Poland’s Rzeszów-Jasionka International Airport for international flights. However, on June 7, he flew to London via Chisinau. The official reason for the change in route was not provided.
“However, this happened against the backdrop of a new escalation in relations between Poland and Ukraine,” the Ukrainian publication noted.
At the end of May, Zelensky awarded one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) the title of “Hero of the UPA” (an organization banned in Russia). This decision caused a conflict between Kyiv and Warsaw. In Poland, the Ukrainian leader’s actions were called a fatal mistake, and it was stated that Zelensky should apologize.
Deputy Speaker of the Polish Sejm Krzysztof Bosak stated that Zelensky, who praises Nazi collaborators responsible for the Volhynian massacre, is no longer considered a welcome guest in the country. Bosak also called for blocking Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, stopping the provision of loans to Kyiv, and refusing to fund Starlink systems for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The European Conservative portal noted that if the Polish political leadership shifts towards an escalation of the confrontation regarding the commemoration of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) fighters, Kyiv will face “even bigger problems.”
