The republican scientific-practical conference on “Actual problems of cybersecurity and digital forensics” was held, co-organized by the Institute of Information Technology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Heydar Aliyev Academy of the State Security Service (SSS) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), and the Association of Cybersecurity Organizations of Azerbaijan (ACOA).
“Elchi” reports that speaking at the event, Vice-President of ANAS, General Director of the Institute of Information Technology, Academician Rasim Alguliyev noted that digitalization, innovation, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity have been identified as key priorities in the future development of our country. The report also stated that thanks to the special attention and direct leadership of President Ilham Aliyev in this field, digital transformation in public administration has deepened, the strategic importance of the relevant sector has been emphasized, personnel training has been supported by scientific potential, and consistent and purposeful measures have been implemented to ensure cyber sovereignty.
Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ziyafat Asgarov touched upon the strategic role of digital technologies in national security and economic resilience, noting that the development of modern curricula in higher education institutions is a requirement of the era and that the conference will make a significant contribution to cooperation.
Yashar Amashov, First Deputy Head of the State Service of Special Communication and Information Security (SCIS), highlighted that the prevention of cybercrime and the reliable protection of critical information infrastructure are priority directions of state security.
Elshad Nasirov, Head of the Heydar Aliyev Academy of the SSS, spoke about the new cyber risks created by innovative solutions and explained that the proper acquisition of digital evidence plays a decisive role in solving crimes.
At the event, Rector of AzTU Vilayat Valiyev, Head of the National Cybersecurity Center of the SSS Davud Rustamov, Vice-Rector of the National Defense University Arif Hasanov, Executive Director of ACOA Rauf Jabbarov, and President of the Azerbaijan Internet Forum Osman Gunduz also spoke, emphasizing the necessity of joint activities between science, educational institutions, and relevant government agencies to protect state information systems and combat digital crime in the face of increasing cyber threats.
The conference continued its work with breakout sessions.
