On June 3, the 34th meeting of the Council of Heads of State News Agencies of the Commonwealth of Independent States (Informshura) was held within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

At the meeting, heads and representatives of state news agencies from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan, as well as representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, discussed the use of artificial intelligence, adherence to professional journalism standards in this context, the fight against fake news, and prospects for cooperation between news agencies in this field. The speeches emphasized the importance of using modern technologies for the rapid preparation of materials, translation of texts into various languages, monitoring of the international agenda, improving the quality of news content, and expanding international cooperation.
An agreement was reached on expanding cooperation between news agencies in the field of artificial intelligence, creating joint training programs, and exchanging experience in the implementation of automation systems.
The event also covered the activities of the International Fact-Checking Network, preparations for events marking the 35th anniversary of the CIS, and the presentation of the new website of the Association of National News Agencies (ANIA).
