US Secretary of State Marco Rubio answered questions from members of Congress regarding President Donald Trump’s fiscal year 2027 budget request in a House subcommittee. Democratic Representative Rosa DeLauro asked Rubio about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s instruction to “seize” 70% of the Gaza territory. In response to the question, Rubio said: “We have a plan. Such a thing is not envisioned in this plan. Netanyahu made this statement, but it is not part of the plan.” Rubio also stated that no one will provide financial support to Gaza unless HAMAS is disarmed, adding, “Because everyone knows that a new war will start.”
