The co-chair of the “Alternative for Germany” (AfD) party, Alice Weidel, believes that FRG Chancellor Friedrich Merz prioritizes Ukraine’s interests over those of his own country and is dragging Berlin into a direct conflict with Moscow.

“Merz prioritizes Ukraine’s security interests over Germany’s interests. Instead of resuming dialogue with Moscow and acting as a mediator, he is dragging Germany even deeper into a direct conflict with Russia,” she stated. Weidel called this approach “irresponsible and extremely dangerous.”
