The first IQAir device for measuring air quality has been installed in Baku

The new device belongs to the Swiss-based company IQAir, which is considered one of the leading brands in the field of air quality monitoring worldwide.

“Elchi” reports that the device determines the Air Quality Index (AQI) by measuring pollutants in the air – especially PM2.5 and PM10 particles, which are considered the most dangerous for human health, as well as gases such as nitrogen dioxide, ozone, and carbon monoxide. The collected data is publicly broadcast through IQAir’s global AirVisual platform, allowing every citizen to monitor the current state of the city’s air via their mobile phone or computer.

According to experts, the installation of such devices is important not only in terms of environmental transparency but also for the protection of public health. People with asthma, allergies, and respiratory diseases, as well as children and elderly citizens, will be able to plan the time they spend outdoors based on this information.

It should be noted that IQAir’s annual “World Air Quality Report” is considered one of the most reliable sources regarding global air pollution, and these devices are also used by organizations such as the UN and the World Health Organization.
