On May 19, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, received the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environment of the Slovak Republic, Tomáš Taraba.
“Elchi” reports that the head of state, recalling his visit to Slovakia last year and Prime Minister Robert Fico’s visit to our country, noted that high-level delegations from Slovakia have been visiting Azerbaijan recently and emphasized that this demonstrates the active cooperation between our countries. Appreciating the existing friendship and partnership between Azerbaijan and Slovakia, President Ilham Aliyev expressed his satisfaction with the level of cooperation.
Expressing his gratitude for the hospitality, Tomáš Taraba noted that Slovakia always stands with Azerbaijan. He emphasized that his country consistently supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Slovakia said that Azerbaijan has been a reliable supplier whenever his country needed gas.
Tomáš Taraba also touched upon the importance of holding the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum in Azerbaijan.
Expressing his gratitude for the kind words, President Ilham Aliyev said that Azerbaijan currently supplies gas to 12 European countries, including 10 member states of the European Union, and emphasized the possibility of increasing this number in the future.
During the meeting, it was noted that our bilateral relations are of a strategic partnership nature, and an exchange of views was held regarding the prospects for cooperation.
