As a result of complex operational and customs control measures carried out by the employees of the Main Customs Department of Air Transport, the illegal import of medicinal products into the country has been prevented.
According to the Public Relations and Media Department of the State Customs Committee, elchi was informed that a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan arriving on the Istanbul-Baku flight was directed to the “Red channel” while leaving the customs zone through the “Green channel” clearance system, and their hand luggage and baggage were inspected using a stationary X-ray machine.
Due to suspicious images observed during the inspection, a detailed customs check was conducted on the hand luggage and baggage. As a result of the inspection, a large quantity of undeclared medicinal products, consisting of 16036 units in 36 types, was discovered.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
