Uzbekistan’s President has signed a law tightening penalties for sexual violence against children.
elchi reports that the head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva, announced this.
The document provides for amendments to five codes and six laws.
According to the new norms, imprisonment for up to 25 years or life imprisonment is envisaged for sexual violence against a child. The statute of limitations for such crimes is abolished.
