World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated on the “X” social network that hantavirus symptoms were detected in another passenger on the “MV Hondius” cruise ship during quarantine.
elchi reports, citing foreign media, that according to him, a total of 11 cases of infection have been recorded – nine of which are confirmed and two are suspected. Three of these cases have resulted in death. In September, Ghebreyesus had stated that the number of infected people had been revised down from 11 to 10.
the WHO chief explained that the latest confirmed case was also detected in one of the ship’s passengers. According to him, that person was among those being repatriated, symptoms appeared during quarantine, and they are currently receiving medical care.
