Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, regarding claims about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during the war, stated: “What Iranian security units reported to our leadership a long time ago has now been openly declared by Netanyahu. Those who sow seeds of division by cooperating with Israel will be held accountable.”
elchi reports that Araghchi made a statement on his social media account on the US-based X platform regarding the claims about Netanyahu’s visit to the UAE.
Araghchi stated, “Netanyahu has now openly declared what Iranian security units reported to our leadership a long time ago.” Calling the hostility against the Iranian people a “foolish gamble,” Araghchi added: “Secret cooperation with Israel to do this: unforgivable. Those who sow seeds of division by cooperating with Israel will be held accountable.”
Netanyahu’s visit to the UAE
A statement from the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office claimed that Netanyahu had secretly visited the UAE and met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
However, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) denied reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had visited the country and that an Israeli military delegation had been received.
The US-based news platform Axios reported on April 26 that military, security, and intelligence cooperation between Israel and the UAE had reached a high level during the war.
Officials speaking to Axios stated that after a meeting between Netanyahu and Al Nahyan in the early days of the war, Netanyahu ordered the deployment of an Iron Dome battery and dozens of Israeli soldiers responsible for its operation to the UAE.
US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee confirmed at a conference in Tel Aviv that Israel had sent Iron Dome batteries and soldiers to the UAE to assist in its operations during the war. On the other hand, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a written statement published on its social media account on the US-based X platform that reports regarding the Israeli Prime Minister visiting the country or any Israeli military delegation being received on UAE soil were untrue.
