The Washington administration has imposed sanctions on a number of individuals and companies in Cuba due to their alleged involvement in repressions in the country and threats to the national security of the United States.
“Elchi” reports that the US Department of State has released information regarding this matter.
It was stated that the “Grupo de Administracion Empresarial S.A.” (GAESA) conglomerate, which controls approximately 40% of the Cuban economy, has been subjected to sanctions. Additionally, Aniya Lastres Morera, who is or has been a head, official, or member of the board of directors of GAESA, has been included in the sanctions list.
Furthermore, sanctions have been imposed on “MOA Nickel SA” (MNSA), a company operating in the metallurgy and mining sector.
It is noted that further sanction decisions may be adopted in the coming days and weeks.
