Commander of the Turkish Land Forces has arrived in Azerbaijan

On April 27, First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel-General Karim Valiyev, met with a delegation led by the Commander of the Turkish Land Forces, General Metin Tokel, who is on an official visit to our country.

“Elchi” reports that the Ministry of Defense released information regarding this.
First, the guests visited the graves of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva in the Alley of Honor, as well as the Alley of Martyrs and the Turkish Martyrdom, where they laid wreaths and flowers, paying deep respect and tribute to their memory. Later, the Victory Park was visited, and a wreath was laid at the Victory Monument.
At the meeting held at the General Staff, Colonel-General K. Valiyev noted that Azerbaijan-Turkey military cooperation is constantly developing and emphasized the importance of further expanding these relations.
Speaking about the “TurAz Qartali-2026” joint tactical-flight exercise held in our country with the participation of Azerbaijani and Turkish military personnel, the Chief of the General Staff emphasized that such exercises are significant for the development of bilateral cooperation and contribute to regional security.
Expressing his gratitude for the hospitality shown, General M. Tokel stated the importance of continuing reciprocal visits in terms of further expanding our military cooperation, which embodies a strategic alliance.
At the meeting, it was emphasized that joint and multinational exercises conducted with the application of modern technological innovations are significant for increasing the professionalism and improving the practical skills of the military personnel of our countries.
The parties discussed various aspects of Azerbaijan-Turkey military cooperation and held a broad exchange of views on joint activities and other issues of mutual interest.
