The US has extended the duration of the sanctions exemption on the sale of Russian oil until May 16.
AFP reports that the goal is to prevent a rise in energy prices.
According to the information, based on the license issued by the US Department of the Treasury, this exemption allows for the purchase of Russian oil and petroleum products loaded onto any vessel as of Friday until 04:01 (GMT) on May 16.
It should be noted that the previous relaxed sanctions regime expired on April 11.
