Dedollarization trends in the market continue. During 2025, the dollarization of the loan portfolio in the banking sector decreased by 1.9 percentage points to 14.2% (a historical low). The dollarization of the deposit portfolio decreased by 1.9 percentage points compared to the end of 2024, amounting to 35.6%.
“Elchi” reports this with reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
Furthermore, the information notes that the dedollarization process for individual deposits is ongoing. Thus, compared to the end of 2024, the dollarization of term deposits of individuals in 2025 decreased by 3.5 percentage points to 31.4%, and for demand deposits, it decreased by 1.4 percentage points to 31.6%.
“The dollarization of term deposits of legal entities increased by 4.7 percentage points to 57.2%. The share of demand deposits of legal entities in foreign currency in the total deposit portfolio decreased by 2.6 percentage points to 32.7%,” the statement emphasized.
