Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Elchi” reports that the parties discussed topical issues related to the further development and strengthening of the Uzbekistan-Russia strategic partnership and alliance within the framework of implementing high-level agreements.
It was noted that trade and economic cooperation is rapidly developing. According to last year’s results, the volume of trade turnover increased by 10 percent, reaching 13 billion dollars, and has further increased by 32 percent since the beginning of this year.
The implementation of large cooperation projects in industry, energy, transport, and other priority sectors of the economy continues.
Special attention was paid to promoting the project for the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan.
An exchange of views took place on topical issues of international importance, including the situation in the Middle East, South Asia, and Ukraine.
The plan for future events was also discussed.
