The Ministry of Health of Vietnam has instructed local authorities to strengthen epidemiological control and tighten inspections at border crossing points and medical facilities against the backdrop of the spread of the Nipah virus in India.

The spread of the life-threatening Nipah virus was recorded near Kolkata, India. It was reported a day earlier that five people were infected there, and about a hundred people were quarantined. Currently, there is no approved drug or vaccine for the treatment of this disease.
