Raising the Russian flag will be prohibited for participants at the 2026 Olympics in Italy in February.
Elchi.az reports that this was reported by “Radiosporten” with reference to the electronic mail of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Russian athletes will compete in a neutral position.
It should be noted that in March 2022, the IOC recommended international federations to remove Russian and Belarusian athletes from the competition. In December 2023, the organization allowed Russian representatives to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics as neutral players. As a result, 15 Russian athletes joined the Paris Olympics. They are prohibited from using Russian state symbols, including the flag and anthem.
